Straight runs, quarter-landings, half-landings, winders and curved — every site has the right answer. We design around the available footprint, headroom, entry/exit points and the architectural style of your home so the stair feels like part of the house, not an afterthought.

Treads in Spotted Gum, Blackbutt or treated pine; risers open or closed; stringers exposed or boxed; balustrades in vertical timber dowels, stainless wire, glass panels or powdercoated steel. We talk you through cost, look and maintenance for each combination.

Prefab stairs are cheaper but rarely fit perfectly and look generic. Custom on-site builds are sized to the millimetre, tied properly into your deck or entry, and last decades longer. For most residential applications custom wins on value over the life of the stair.

Every stair is only as good as what it stands on. We pour concrete pad or pier footings sized to the load, soil type and wind rating; use H4 treated posts or stirrups to keep timber off the ground; and tie the top of the stair into the deck bearer with engineered hardware — not just a couple of bugles into a fascia board.

A new stair gets sanded smooth, sealed and finished with your choice of natural oil (Cutek, Intergrain), exterior stain or paint. We talk you through the look-vs-maintenance trade-off — oiled hardwoods need a refresh every 12–18 months but age beautifully; painted stairs hide blemishes but need recoating every 5–7 years.
