Beyond structural repairs we prep the deck surface for re-oiling — punching nails, screwing loose boards, sanding back high spots and replacing boards too far gone. Ready for your finisher or we can recommend one.

Sometimes a deck is too far gone and patching it is throwing money away. We'll always tell you straight — repair, partial rebuild or full rebuild — with itemised costs for each option.

Not every tired deck needs a rebuild. We walk the deck with you, sound every board, check fixings, inspect bearers and joists from underneath, and give you an honest assessment of what's worth repairing vs replacing. The goal is the most life from your deck for the smallest spend.

Surface restoration is the cheapest way to make an old deck look new. We sand back to fresh timber (40 then 80 grit), clean thoroughly, and recommend Cabot's, Sikkens or Intergrain decking oil based on timber type. A re-oil every 12–18 months protects the surface from UV, water and foot traffic.

We replace cupped, split or rotten boards with matching timber, upgrade rusted nails to stainless or galvanised screws, and refix any boards that have lifted. The result is a deck that feels solid underfoot and looks consistent across the whole surface.
