The Art of Clamping
Clamping applies the necessary pressure to bring wood surfaces into intimate contact, allowing the glue to form a strong, uninterrupted film. The key is to apply just enough pressure to close the joint—a small amount of glue should squeeze out evenly along the seam. Overtightening can starve the joint of glue and can even bow the wood.
